How to Sell or Trade Your Books for Cash OR Store Credit

Interested in offloading your inventory of books for cash?

We buy books we can resell. Our bids are based on the expected retail (used) value of the books we buy. That retail value is derived from the book's desirability, current and historic market values, in-print prices, conditions, and our current stock levels. We offer more in PalmersBooks.com credit (to be redeemed in our online store) than we do in cash.

With so many different types of books out there, and our own stock continually changing, it is impossible to say exactly what we'll be interested in at any one time. Please use our Book Tracker to lookup your book(s) by ISBN number to see what we are paying.

When you are ready to sell us your books, please email us your contact information, a list of books, and the best time to call you. Lists should include title, author, format (hardcover/paperback), ISBN, and quantity. Emails should be sent to: support@palmersbooks.com and should include your name, phone number. Please make sure your books meet our quality guidelines.

After we receive your email, we will prepare a final quote for your books. If your accept our quote, simply ship your items to us OR if you are located in the Orlando, FL area we can come to your location to pick up your books.

Trading

We offer a online trade service similar to brick & mortar based used bookstores. You can use our Book Tracker to see what we are giving in store credit. You can use your store credit towards 60% of the purchase price of any books in our online store. Just send us your, Gently Used:

PLEASE NOTE: if you are trading your books, make sure to add a note with your website Username, First Name, Last Name, Contact Phone so that we can add the appropriate credit to your account.

Once your books are received, we will inspect them to make sure they meet our quality standards and verify that stock is needed for each book. All acceptable books will be weighed and we will issue a credit to your account based on the following guidelines:

Some Reasons We May Not Accept a Book

1. We only allow for a certain number of a particular title at any given time. If we are overstocked on a given title or author we can either mail your item back to you in your next shipment from us OR hold the item until stock is needed. We hold books and issues credit on a first come first serve basis.
   
   Use our Book Tracker to check if a book you have is needed otherwise we can hold books until they are needed and issue the credit at that time.
   
   
2. The book is in too poor of a condition for us to resell. See quality guidelines.
3. We no longer carry that series, title, category, or type of book. For example, we're phasing out serial romances, textbooks, and encyclopedias.
4. We are not confident we can resell the book. For example, hard cover books are accepted on a case-by-case basis, usually limited to newer releases, nonfiction, and children's series.

Used Book Quality Guidelines

We will consider any book that is in good gently used condition, whether paperback or hard cover, for trade. However, we generally do not accept books with the following problems:

• Loose or missing pages
• Ripped or torn cover
• Ripped or torn pages
• Water damage
• Food or drink spills
• Dirt, mold or mildew
• Tape on the cover or pages
• Insect damage
• Yellowing or crispy pages

Sorry, but we do not accept magazines or encyclopedias at this time. We reserve the right to refuse any book.
